Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturiser Review

Early December, Clo and I went to Clothes Show Live and got some goody bags, filled with perfume testers, make up testers, magazines, a bit of food, coconut water (it was so gross I nearly threw up. Some kind of health drink. Ew.) wristbands and more. One of my favourite things in the bag was this 'Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Calming Facial Lotion'.

I am a bit mental about skincare. I try to have my proper routine and cleanse, tone and moisturise twice everyday. I can also be quite picky about skincare, I have quite sensitive skin so a lot of products don't work well for me. However, when I tried this I knew I loved it. It does the job it says it does on the packet and moisturises my (sometimes) dry skin well. It says it 'reduces redness and irritation. Calms stressed skin'. And after the party season, your skin is probably, very stressed.

It is supposedly fragrance free but with natural extracts (of chamomile, aloe vera and milk proteins) it smells deliciously like chocolate! It makes me want to eat my face.

There is one downside. If you put too much on it can make your face look a bit greasy, it is always best to put a bit on, then add more if needed.

So, I've just ordered this product off the Superdrug sale because I love it so much and it is working really well for my skin. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula do loads of other great products as well.

Confessions of a concealoholic

Hey reader:)

I guess it's time to confess. I think every girl has one type of make up that they collect just to find the perfect one. For you it may be lipstick, mascara or lip pencils. But my thing is concealer.

Concealer is the one thing I have to always have to have in my make up bag it's great to even your skin and cover blemishes and I have a scar on my chin which needs constant coverage. So when I opened this three days ago I admit I was excited to try it.

Inside the kit there are 6 different products including the that gal primer and boi-ing. Both of these products have been recommended to me before so I was excited to try them. The kit also came with two double ended brushes with brushes for erase paste, boi-ing, lemon aid and eye bright. I will tell you about each thing.

My least favourite thing is eye bright it is a pink moist powder, I'm not over keen on it because it looks like I've just put some glitter and blush at the corners of my eyes and the texture isn't that easy to blend. The boi-ing concealers are alright for under my eyes but they are a lot of effort to blend. The that gal primer is brightening and I am enjoying it, it's good for those lazy days when you don't want a full base but don't want to look like you have dull skin. Lastly my two favourites, lemon aid and erase paste. The lemon aid I use to refresh and liven up my eyes and the erase paste covers the scar on my chin perfectly. I would recommend these two products to anyone.

Just a little note, I'm sorry for not posting for a while I have been busy with my family and friends over the festive period we're back to normal now though.

Lots of love from Clo xo

Everybody Needs a Diary

I bought this diary from a little store in Thailand for about three pounds, I think it's quite cute and good quality. You can get some similar ones in Paperchase.

I use my diary everyday- I write down things I need to remember, ideas I get, occasionally how I feel, things I want, things I have ordered and what to blog about. I'm finding it really handy and I feel much more organised, it'll be even more useful when school starts again.

I know diaries are so old school, but really it is so handy. So go get one. Because every blogger/anyone cool needs one.

My ombre hair

Today I have decided to talk about my hair. I know that it's not fashion but its to do with style and my personal look so I hope you like it.

I had my hair dyed ombre only about three weeks ago now. Ombre means graduating from light to dark. I think it's a nice style because it looks really soft but still giving you a dramatic stylish look.

I had this done at a salon because my hair was previously blonde and doing it at home would have made my hair even drier than it currently is.

I will admit that ombre hair is a pain to look after because the top of my hair is always moisturised and the bottoms of my hair often dry and crispy.

If you are interested in dying your hair ombre I would recommend checking out sprinkle of glitter (Louise)'s DIY video and for looking after I would look at Zoellas channel on the ombre hair care routine.

Also this is to say Merry Christmas:). I hope you all have a great holiday and a healthy and happy new year. God bless you all

What I Wore..

Right now I am on a Thai island, without any nice clothes, no make up and without my blogging camera. So I apologise that I haven't been able to post anything that good at the moment, I'm left with the pictures I have on my phone!

So this photo was taken the day after Clothes Show live, in Clo's bedroom. I am wearing my Boy London vest and Next tie dye effect jeans, which Clo gave me for Christmas:)

I think that this outfit has a slight grunge feel about it, with the baggy top and jeans with different shades of black and grey. It could've done with a beanie but I didn't have one on me.

Up and Coming Designers - Tim Rhys Evans

This man will be big. His ideas are amazing and so individual, which is what every good designer is. In a few years time I reckon he will be a top end designer and you'll be happy to say you heard about him first..
Tim Rhys Evans (not to be confused with choir singer) graduated from London College of Fashion and went on to do an internship with Gareth Pugh, which led him on to be a pattern cutter at top brand Jaeger. He started designing his own collections and when asked to display them at the Graduate Diet Coke Catwalk at Clothes Show Live, he couldn't refuse.
Tim made all the outfits in his collection black, as he wanted the different textures to really show through. He really likes the history of fashion which comes through in the cuts in some of the dresses. I absolutely adore the amount of texture mixing he does and how tastefully he does it- the leather, fur, lace, fringing and sheer materials. I especially love the outfits with black veils.
I look forward to seeing more of his designs in the future.

Right, I know these are the worst quality pictures in the whole world wide web but just hear me out. Todays blog from me is more about the words not the photo.

This is a picture taken at Clothes Show Live on the 8th of September which was an amazing day but being so close to my favourite designer and inspiration made it even better.

Henry is famous for his graphic and slogan t shirts which you can still buy today on the House of Holland website linked below. I love how his daring, bold and exciting approach to fashion. This season I particularly love The bright exciting houndtooth patterns and the 50's style pieces.

Henry Holland is whom this photo is of and he is my idol. His clothes are amazing,  his whole brand is amazingand he is amazing. Please check his clothes out and get some. He sells some clothes at the English highstreet store Debenhams but these are not house of holland pieces they are 'H!' pieces.

Ray Bans

My lovely daddy bought me some Ray Ban sunglasses today, woo! Originally I was going to get these circular glasses with detachable sun lenses that had normal clear lenses underneath. They were so cool. Unfortunately they were faulty so I didn't get them and settled on these. They still have the slight circular shape to them (I <3 round glasses) mixed with the classic square Ray Ban shape.
With my sunnies I like to go for quite versatile, plain colours, so I chose black. I think that I can wear them more often and as I like to go big with the shape of them, a bright colour might distract the attention away from the shape.

My outfit today

Just a little pre-note. This is my first effort at editing a photo so don't go to harshly on me,but I would love a bit of feedback.

This is just my outfit for today, I know that its not high fashion or anything but I like it.

As you can see I am wearing a peter pan collar top with  a bunny print all over it I think it is quite kitsch, I chose this top this morning  because I read an aricle in Company magazine saying how they were 'shaking up a simple shirt'. I got this top last year from H&M and if I remember correctly it was a mere £12, quite the bargain I think.

My skater skirt was from TopShop and was only £20. I thought this was a good price and snapped it up straight away. The amount I have worn this skirt is so crazy whenever I don't quite know what to wear, this is my fallback. Its a good quality material and I would recommend it to everyone. Heres te link if you want to invest in one http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=1&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=7958149&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208530&parent_categoryId=203984&pageSize=200

Topshop

A little while back I bought some clothes from Topshop and as I was flicking through my photos I found this.
The far left picture is of some Jasper John style leggings, £15. Even though I bought them last month they will go really well with the up and coming monochrome trend.
The bottom right picture is just a fairly simple white t-shirt I bought, also £15. Clo advised me to buy this as she said I needed a new white t-shirt as my others are quite worn out now! I was a bit unsure at first but now I think it was a good buy. Every wardrobe needs a plain t-shirt that you can wear with a nice pair of bottoms when you have no clue what to wear. The birds on it draw the attention upwards, which is what my body shape needs. They are also trés cute!
Lastly are the full length, denim dungarees. I am obsessed with dungarees. I think they are so 'farmers daughter'. They were £55, which is a bit of a splurge for me but I am sure I will wear them a lot.

Cossack

This is a photo of my Russian cossack hat I recently bought in November. It was £16 from Parkhurst at TK Maxx.
It brings me back to my Ukrainian roots as it was the type of thing my mum used to wear when she was my age, living in Ukraine. It fits in with a lot of this seasons trends, like fur.
If you are thinking on getting one of these you need to pick out the write colour, dependimg om your skin tone, eye colour and hair colour. The grey accents my eyes to bring them out more and contrasts with the colour of my hair.
Personally, I really like my hat, although I think others disaggree as I got quite a few weird looks last time I wore it..

This is a photo from the first fashion show we ever went too. It was a Vogue Fashion Night Out event but instead of going to the London one, we went to one at a local shopping centre, in Milton Keynes. It was very exciting to go too and even though it wasn't similar to how we anticipated it to be. It was still great.

Let me just tell you who is who. On the far left is my chummy Flo, in the centre is me, Clo and on the right is our friend Nathaniel. Nathaniel also has a blog- www.julianemanuele.tumblr.com please check it out. Its really good and he's a close friend, thank you.

That day we recieved goody bags which we found a novelty at the time, oblivious to the fact  they give them at most shows. There was three seperate shows each displaying different AW 2012 styles. My favourite was costume drama, consisting of decadent ballgowns and chunky, glimmering jewellery.

I would love to go again next year.

Lots of love Clo xo

On the 8th of December, 2012 Flo and I went to Clothes Show Live in the NEC Birmingham.

It was an amazing day but one of the highlights had to be meeting all the Britain and Irelands Next Top Model girls. They were all stunning,  kind and considerate. Not just the pretty girls they are put out to be.

We were also lucky enough to watch a fashion show featuring the models. The show exhibited different party looks from high street stores.

This is my favourite dress from the show which happens to be on my favourite model. This dress is from Miss Selfridge. I love it so much partly because of the way it flows. As I saw Laura strutting down the dress flew out behind her creating black chiffon cloud  around her. Also I like how it works so many current trends. I love the lace detailing, the two slits and I think it works really well with the black feather stole.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Just to let you know Flo is in Thailand away from civilisation so your stuck with me for a couple of weeks;).

Love Clo
