A few weekends ago now we went behind the scenes at a Jane Bowler lookbook shoot, it was a very exciting day and we are sorry the post on it is a little late, school has been rather hectic.

As we walked into the back of the studio we saw loads of beautiful pieces scattered around the room and we couldn't wait to look at everything in more detail.
There were lots of jewellery pieces lined up neatly on the window sill with clear acrylic triangular necklaces and bright coloured earrings of a similar shape and style.
As we looked down to the floor we saw lines of shoes and bags. Personally the bags excited me more, they were colourful statement pieces with fringing detailing on some and lots more triangular patterns.

Lastly, we saw the clothes, there was a large rack full of beautiful, colourful pieces. Both of our eyes were drawn to two pieces in particular which were made of metallic strips linked together, it reminded me of a large paper chain that had got out of hand in a certain way, Jane told us they were made from a giant screen thing that she had at her last show, recycling at its best.

As we were wandering around the gorgeous model Emily was getting ready for the shoot, she had her hair done in a tight topknot with a few electric blue hair extensions slid in cleverly by Ellenora, the hairdresser. Next we saw that she was having her makeup done so we popped over for a closer look at that. The make up artists name was Yin and she was very friendly towards us as were everyone who we met there.

After all the preparations were made this is where the stylist, Ines, stepped in. For look 1 she chose the metallic 'paper chain' crop top, paired with a gorgeous skirt, the skirt was quite close fitting and it was made similarly, of the acrylic triangles all linked together, the triangles at the top of the skirt were opaque, black and damson and the lower part of the skirt was a mixture of clear and shiny silver triangles. The skirt came to a point at the bottom, giving it a very angular and geometric feel. It was accesorised with black, opaque, acrylic, square earrings, some pastel blue, House of Holland fishnet ankle socks and some Melissa strappy, rubbery heels. After all the preparations the look was shot successfully.

The second look was equally gorgeous. Ines chose a beautiful dress (that you may have already seen if you saw our post on lfw). The dress was again made of the linked triangles, the top was made of opaque metallic triangles, which I thought was very effective, giving it a bit of a contrast. The rest of the dress was made of a mixture of clear and black opaque triangles in an arrow shape pattern pointing downwards, this dress came to a point at the bottom, similar to the previous one. It was dressed with a gorgeous fringed clutch bag and some more Melissa shoes with bright blue and nude colours on. Another successful shoot and look.

The third look was my favourite that we saw. It was again a gorgeous, geometric dress. I absolutely adore the top of this dress, its in a gorgeous, rich magenta colour, the thing I like so much though is the neckline and shoulder detailing, the shoulders are slightly enlarged because oftheway it sit and it has a very high neck, which works, after all the entire lower half of the dress is clear. After the magenta top part there is a black part that works well and relaly contrasts the lower clear part. The skirt of the dress is entirely clear so was styled with silver sequin hotpants, which worked well and reflected the light, adding another dimension to the outfit. It was dressed with the same Melissa shoes as the previous outfit and a pair of clear drop earrings.

We also briefly saw the forth look before we had to leave. It consisted of an acrylic, triangle link skirt, a rubber knitted top, a gorgeousblue clutch bag and a pair of acrilylic, monochromatic earrings. The skirt was similar to the look two dress with the same pattern but with black and metallic silver pieces. The jumper was amazing, it was quite a messy looking knit which contrasted well with the angular skirt. It was almost like an ombre jumper as the top of the jumper was a loose knit and the bottom a much denser knit, this worked well. The earrings were nice, a sort of checkerboard look and the clutch bag with the statment buckle just finished the outfit perfectly.
Finally I just want to say a massive thank you to Jane Bowler for letting us have this amazing experience. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and we just wanted to say that we really appreciate it. Thanks again for everything Jane, we hope we will get the chance to work with you again.
Lots of Love,
Clo xo
